CWSMMA Archives of paper
items
before everyone had computers in their homes and offices - high speed
access |
|
Welcome to the CWSMMA Archives. We are pleased to be continuously
developing these sections for you. A number of our docents, fellows
and associates have paper articles from decades ago. It is our honor
to finance the archiving of them. As is keeping with our desires - we
do this with no dues or fees to anyone.
The easiest manner to share these
papers with you is to make them available via printable pictures. By
that, we mean we have made them available in .jpg and .bmp formats. In
most text cases of archived papers we use a .jpg format to allow for faster
downloads. When it comes to photos - we switched to a .bmp format.
BMP allows for better resolution but lacks the speed of downloading that a
.jpg has. What's a sailor to do? Either way, Internet Explorer
allows for zooming to read these articles, print them out or use your own
graphics programs to zoom with - in the case of the font being too small.

More of Bill's excellent work and accomplishments.
Read worldwide, this article followed up on the CWSMMA's work in conjunction
with the CSS Virginia crew to bring the Monitor and Virginia across land and
into Ohio for crowds that numbered tens of thousands on the Ohio river.
Editors note: There are no missing pages - there are only four in the entire
article (which includes cover).
